SAP S/4HANA Finance Specialist / Project Manager

About the Opportunity:

Our client is migrating from legacy ERP platforms to SAP S/4HANA across multiple business units. The program redesigns the enterprise structure on the Universal Journal and rebuilds management reporting, consolidation and the period-end close. Reporting spans IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP. We need an SAP functional lead or project manager with a CPA or accounting background who has taken S/4HANA (or ECC) from design through go-live. You will work with the controllership team, finance leaders, the system integrator and IT.

Scope:

• FI-GL on the Universal Journal (ACDOCA): chart of accounts, parallel ledgers, document splitting, period-end close
• AP and AR: business partner master data, payment runs, dunning, credit and dispute management, special G/L
• Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting and Cash Management
• Tax: tax codes and determination for Canadian GST/HST, PST and QST
• CO: cost centres, internal orders, profit centres, allocations, margin analysis, product costing with Material Ledger
• Group Reporting: consolidation, eliminations, intercompany reconciliatio
• Financial closing: closing cockpit, accruals management
• Reporting: Fiori, embedded analytics, SAP Analytics Cloud
• MM and SD integration with finance: purchasing, invoice verification, billing, SAP Ariba where in scope
• Project System and Investment Management: WBS, settlement, assets under construction
• SAP migration cockpit, SAP Integration Suite and SAP BTP, SAP GRC access control, SAP Cloud ALM

Your Role:

• Lead fit-to-standard and design workshops with Finance, Controlling, Procurement and IT, following SAP Activate
• Document as-is and to-be processes, functional specifications and acceptance criteria
• Design the enterprise structure: company codes, controlling areas, chart of accounts, ledgers, document splitting
• Configure, or oversee configuration of, FI-GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cash Management, Tax, CO, MM, SD and PS
• Own data migration using the SAP migration cockpit: mapping, cleansing, validation and balance reconciliation
• Design authorizations and segregation-of-duties controls with SAP GRC
• Lead SIT, UAT and mock cutovers; triage defects to closure
• Plan and run cutover, go-live and first period close; lead hypercare
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks and change control; coordinate the system integrator and SAP
• Create SOPs and training materials; report to the steering committee

Qualifications:

• CPA (or CA, CMA, CGA), or a degree in Accounting or Finance with hands-on accounting experience, with working knowledge of IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP
• 5+ years on SAP S/4HANA (or ECC) finance implementations, upgrades or migrations
• At least one full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementation, from requirements through go-live
• Functional depth in FI-GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting and Controlling, plus MM and SD integration with finance
• Enterprise structure, chart of accounts and ledger design for a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
• Data migration, including mapping, validation and opening balance reconciliation
• SIT and UAT planning, cutover and post-go-live support

Nice to Have:

• SAP S/4HANA Finance certification (for example, C_S4CFI); PMP, CBAP or Prosci
• ECC to S/4HANA migration, or migration from Oracle EBS or JD Edwards to SAP
• Group Reporting or SAP Analytics Cloud planning, including moves off SAP BPC
• Joint Venture Accounting: joint operating agreements, equity groups, cash calls, partner billing
• SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Signavio, CDS views, SQL
• Experience alongside a system integrator or Big 4 firm

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $150.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
