Job Title: Purchasing AnalystJob Description
As a Purchasing Analyst, you will play an integral role in procurement activities by sourcing products and services, negotiating with suppliers, resolving problems, managing relationships, and driving continuous improvement across purchasing and supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Process requisitions, requests for quotations, purchase orders, price reconciliations, and competitive bids in a timely and accurate manner.
- Negotiate annual contract renewals for products and services to ensure favorable pricing, terms, and service levels.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers to identify and resolve internal and external issues related to materials, services, and deliveries.
- Provide support to suppliers by investigating and resolving purchase order discrepancies and related concerns.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction activities within purchasing and procurement processes.
- Conduct periodic local travel to visit vendors and strengthen supplier relationships, review performance, and address operational issues.
- Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials, and business services for use within the organization or for further processing.
- Assess organizational requirements and develop clear specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies to be purchased.
- Invite tenders, consult with suppliers, and review quotations to evaluate quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions, award supplier contracts, or recommend contract awards based on thorough analysis.
- Establish logistics and delivery schedules, monitor progress, and proactively contact internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve delivery or quality problems.
Essential Skills
- 1–4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with hands-on responsibility for purchase orders and supplier coordination.
- Proficiency in purchase order processing and general purchasing activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards.
- College or university degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong negotiation skills for contracts and supplier agreements.
- Ability to analyze requirements and develop clear purchasing specifications.
- Solid problem-solving skills to address issues involving manufacturing, engineering, and suppliers.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in price reconciliation and bid evaluation.
- Capability to support day shifts with occasional overtime as required.
- Flexibility to work in multiple locations, including Cambridge and Woodstock.
- Ability to support local travel to visit vendors when needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SAP, specifically within purchasing functions.
- Automotive industry experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives within purchasing or supply chain.
- Familiarity with Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
- Background in procurement, supply chain planning, and inventory management.
- Experience with data analysis and reconciliation related to purchasing and inventory.
- Ability to work effectively as a planner within a supply chain or purchasing team.
Work Environment
The role is based in an open office environment, where you will be provided with your own desk and computer. You may be required to visit the shop floor to collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams. The position supports day shifts with occasional overtime as needed, and you must be flexible to work in both Cambridge and Woodstock locations. Local travel to vendors may be required to support business needs. Appropriate workplace attire is expected to align with a professional office and manufacturing setting.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.16 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
