Job Title: Accounts Payable Coordinator

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Coordinator supports the accounts payable function by performing accurate invoice data entry and administrative tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This role focuses on processing vendor invoices, maintaining vendor records, and assisting the accounts payable lead with routine tasks and month-end activities.

Responsibilities

Enter and process vendor invoices into the accounting system with a high level of accuracy.
Match invoices to purchase orders and packing slips to ensure proper documentation and approval.
Maintain and update vendor records and files to keep information current and organized.
Assist the accounts payable lead with daily processing tasks and administrative support as needed.
Identify and flag invoice discrepancies for review and resolution.
Respond to basic vendor inquiries in a professional manner and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
Support month-end accounts payable reconciliations under the direction of the accounts payable lead.
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate processing of payables.

Essential Skills

At least 2 years of administration experience with exposure to accounts payable data entry.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to handle routine accounts payable tasks efficiently and consistently.
Basic understanding of vendor invoicing and purchase order matching.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Organizational skills to manage multiple invoices and vendor records simultaneously.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site accounting environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience using Vista software for accounting or accounts payable processes.
Experience in payroll or payroll processing.
General familiarity with accounting workflows and month-end reconciliation activities.
Interest in developing deeper knowledge of accounts payable and accounting operations.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role within a professional accounting office environment. The Accounts Payable Coordinator works closely with the accounts payable lead and reports into the broader accounting function. The position involves regular use of accounting software, spreadsheets, and standard office tools to process invoices and maintain vendor records. The work is fast-paced and deadline-driven, particularly around month-end close, and requires consistent attention to detail and accuracy. Standard business attire is expected, and the role offers a stable permanent position within a structured, collaborative team setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.03 - $28.84/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
