Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineering leader who enjoys developing people, solving complex production challenges, and making a measurable impact on manufacturing performance?
We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a growing, technically driven organization. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who can balance people leadership, technical problem-solving, new product introduction, continuous improvement, and hands-on involvement with manufacturing operations.
You’ll lead a team of engineering and technical professionals while working closely with operations, quality, supply chain, customers, and other key stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who wants to be more than a people manager. You’ll stay connected to the production floor, help solve real manufacturing challenges, and play an important role in improving how products move from concept into production.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing engineering and technical professionals.
- Maintain a strong presence within manufacturing operations, partnering with production teams to resolve technical and process challenges.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and ensure successful transitions from design and development into production.
- Review drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and product requirements to develop effective manufacturing solutions.
- Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, workflows, and automation.
- Drive initiatives focused on quality, productivity, efficiency, throughput, and cost improvement.
- Serve as a technical resource for internal stakeholders and customers on manufacturability and production-related challenges.
- Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across operations.
- Use manufacturing data, metrics, and performance indicators to identify opportunities and measure improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with production, quality, operations, supply chain, engineering, and other teams to support successful project and product execution.
- Participate in technical discussions and customer meetings as a representative of Manufacturing Engineering.
- Coach and develop team members, identify capability gaps, and support long-term career and succession planning.
- Contribute to broader initiatives focused on strengthening manufacturing capabilities and supporting continued business growth.
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience within a manufacturing or complex production environment, ideally with progressive responsibility throughout your career.
- Previous formal leadership experience managing engineers, technicians, or other technical professionals.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, production processes, and operational excellence.
- Experience supporting NPI, product launches, or the transfer of new products into production.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical requirements, and supporting documentation.
- Experience translating technical or product requirements into practical manufacturing processes and solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving capabilities within a production environment.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and process optimization.
- Proven ability to develop and motivate technical teams while building a positive, high-performing culture.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A hands-on leadership approach and willingness to spend time on the production floor understanding problems firsthand.
Nice to Have
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
- Experience working with ERP or manufacturing management systems.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement training or certifications.
- Experience implementing automation, tooling, equipment, or advanced manufacturing solutions.
- A demonstrated history of improving manufacturing performance across areas such as productivity, quality, throughput, utilization, or cost.
- Experience supporting a growing manufacturing operation with changing priorities and demanding production requirements.
- Customer-facing experience related to product launches, manufacturability, technical solutions, or operational improvements.
Why This Opportunity?
This is an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering professional who is ready to take ownership of both people and performance.
You’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop a technical team while remaining closely connected to manufacturing operations. Rather than sitting on the sidelines, you’ll be involved in solving production challenges, improving processes, supporting new products, and helping shape how the manufacturing organization continues to evolve.
The role offers a strong combination of leadership, technical depth, operational improvement, NPI, and cross-functional collaboration, with the opportunity to make a visible impact on both the team and the broader operation.
This is a full-time, on-site leadership position within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should enjoy being close to the operation and working directly with the teams responsible for bringing products to life.
If you’re a manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving processes, and solving complex production challenges, we’d love to connect.
