Are you an experienced electrical or mechanical professional ready to take the next step into leadership?
We’re looking for a Field Service Manager to join a growing organization supporting complex industrial projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the technical work but is ready to move away from being purely hands-on and into a role focused on field leadership, technical oversight, commissioning, and project execution.
You’ll work closely with engineering, project management, field teams, contractors, and customers to ensure equipment and systems are successfully constructed, installed, tested, and commissioned. If you’re technically strong, comfortable in the field, and enjoy solving problems and coordinating people, this could be an excellent next step in your career.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of complex industrial equipment and systems.
- Review engineering drawings, schematics, technical documentation, and construction packages to identify potential issues prior to execution.
- Conduct site and facility inspections to ensure workmanship and installations meet technical and quality requirements.
- Coordinate commissioning activities, including technicians, tools, test equipment, and other required resources.
- Work closely with Project Managers to keep field activities aligned with project schedules, milestones, and objectives.
- Serve as a key technical point of contact between engineering teams, customers, contractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues and help guide field teams toward effective solutions.
- Monitor project and field progress, proactively identifying challenges that could impact successful execution.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical direction to field personnel while taking a primarily supervisory approach.
- Travel to project and customer locations as required to support construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge developed through engineering, skilled trades, field service, or equivalent industrial experience.
- Experience working with complex industrial equipment and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience supporting installation, construction, commissioning, maintenance, assembly, or field service activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, priorities, and project deadlines.
- An understanding of project execution, including scheduling, resource planning, and cost awareness.
- A professional, level-headed approach when dealing with changing priorities and complex technical challenges.
Nice to Have
- Experience within industrial, manufacturing, construction, engineered equipment, or other technical project environments.
- Exposure to commissioning, project coordination, scheduling, or cost tracking.
- Previous experience acting as a technical liaison between customers, contractors, engineering teams, and field personnel.
- Experience providing technical guidance or leadership to tradespeople, technicians, or field teams.
Why This Opportunity?
This is a great opportunity for someone who has built a strong technical foundation and wants to step into a broader leadership role without losing the field and project exposure they enjoy.
The position offers a mix of technical problem-solving, field leadership, project involvement, customer interaction, and commissioning, with the opportunity to play an important role in seeing complex projects through from construction to successful completion.
This is a full-time, on-site position that combines office-based planning and technical review with regular field and project-site involvement. Travel is required and will fluctuate based on active project needs.
If you’re a technically strong professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and taking ownership of field execution, we’d love to hear from you.
